Welcoming Anita Goode, Wangolina Wines from SA's Limestone Coast to The Wine Loop!
With just twelve seats at the table, join Limestone Coast winemaker Anita Goode for wine tasting, insights and wine chat over lunch.
As the owner of Wangolina, Anita Goode wears many hats - winemaker, vineyard manager and farmer to her 700-acre cattle farm.
Situated in the coastal region of Mt Benson on South Australia’s Limestone Coast, Wangolina, meaning “where the wattlebird nests”, has been home to the Goode family for nearly 100 years. Once a predominantly sheep and cattle business, it has now become dual purpose, with vineyards and winemaking at the forefront of this change.
Anita grew up with a dream to be a winemaker after a stint at Wynns, Coonawarra, as a work experience kid back in the early 90’s. An Oenology degree from Adelaide University and stints overseas in the US and NZ saw her return home with the knowledge and confidence to make and release the range of Wangolina wines in 2002.
This range includes Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Semillon, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon - very much a product of the Mt Benson terroir and cool climate. They also source Tempranillo, Lagrein and Frontignac from the Limestone Coast.
Anita will guide you through her hand-picked line up of the Wangolina range matched to a customised menu from Richmond’s Anchovy. Look forward to lunch at the cross-roads, where Chef-Owner Thi Le’s South-East Asian flavours meet contemporary Australian cuisine.
